Jīva muhūrta
Glossary
Type a name in any script, a term, a question, or a combination such as “Saturn in the 7th”.
This is the 12th of the fifteen muhūrtas of the night, and the 27th counted from sunrise. It lasts about 48 minutes when day and night are equal. Its deity is Jupiter (Ijya), and the Nārada Saṃhitā counts that deity’s muhūrta the 11th of the night. Nārada’s list runs one place earlier here, and the table in the pañcāṅga chapter gives both. This almanac marks it good.
