yoni
Glossary
Type a name in any script, a term, a question, or a combination such as “Saturn in the 7th”.
Yoni is each star’s animal: the horse for Aśvinī and Śatabhiṣaj, the elephant for Bharaṇī and Revatī, and so on through fourteen animals (MC 6.25–26, NS 29.137–138). It is the fourth kūṭa, worth 4 guṇas. It grades the two animals from the same to sworn enemies. Matching avoids a pair of great enemies. The yoni porutham fails only for sworn enemies.
